The Application of Industrial RFID Readers in Intelligent Industrial Production Lines
With the rapid development of information technology, intelligent manufacturing has become a significant trend in the modern industrial sector. Intelligent industrial production lines achieve automation, digitization, and intelligence in the production process by introducing advanced technologies and equipment, thereby enhancing production efficiency, reducing costs, and improving product quality.
1. Challenges in Intelligent Production Line Management
Low data collection efficiency: Traditional data collection methods rely on manual operations and handwritten records, resulting in low efficiency, frequent errors, and omissions.
Inaccurate information: Due to human factors and the unreliability of manual recording, the accuracy of production data cannot be guaranteed, causing difficulties in production management.
Material tracking difficulties: In complex production processes, the tracking and traceability of materials are crucial tasks, yet traditional manual recording methods fail to meet the requirements.
Inadequate process control: Traditional production lines rely on manual operations and empirical judgment for process control, making it difficult to achieve refined control and automated adjustments.
II. Solutions
Design and Encoding of RFID Tags: For different product models, design corresponding RFID tags and encode product information into them. The tags should possess durability, water resistance, and anti-interference capabilities to meet the requirements of industrial environments.
Deployment and Layout of RFID Readers: Based on the layout and requirements of the industrial production line, industrial RFID readers should be deployed rationally. Install readers at key locations such as processing points and conveyors to ensure accurate reading and writing of RFID tag information. The layout of readers should take into account factors such as signal coverage, reading distance, and anti-interference capabilities.
Product Identification and Processing Control: When products of different models enter the processing point, the industrial RFID reader captures the information from the RFID tag and transmits the product model data to the processing equipment. The processing equipment then adjusts the corresponding parameters and processes based on the received information to ensure accurate processing of the respective product models.
Automatic Classification Conveying and Production Line Diversion: Equipped with an automatic classification conveyor, the system reads RFID tags to achieve automatic product classification and conveying. After the reader identifies the tag information, products are directed to the correct production line, eliminating manual intervention and misclassification, thereby improving production efficiency and accuracy.
Warehouse Material Management and AGV Cart Control: RFID tags are attached to warehouse materials, and industrial RFID readers are installed on transport equipment such as AGV carts. When the transport equipment approaches the warehouse materials, the industrial RFID reader scans the tag information on the materials. After verifying the accuracy of the information, the materials are transported to a new storage location. Simultaneously, the reader on the AGV cart scans the RFID tags installed at AGV track nodes, determining the next steps and forward direction based on the tag information, enabling intelligent AGV cart transportation control.
