As many as 35 educational institutions in Cadiz, Spain pilot RFID teacher attendance management system

2021-05-17

As many as 35 educational institutions in the city of Cadiz under the jurisdiction of Andalusia, Spain, have begun piloting the Seneca application of teacher attendance management system. The pilot aims to record the presence of teachers in various institutions and colleges through a technical system. It is reported that the system is more flexible than the methods used so far, such as signing on paper.

In order to make the attendance management process more flexible and faster, the Ministry of Education of the City of Cadiz has been testing new methods of teacher attendance records in recent weeks.

In Cádiz, colleges and universities in different regions have tested this system at the request of the management team in the region. The management team itself must apply to the administrative authorities, because according to the current legislation, these must be voluntary. In addition, in some towns in this city, teachers from schools and institutions have begun to use this new method to record their attendance.

The key to the system

The attendance management system is a module in the Seneca information system, which includes up to four different methods for teachers to digitally record their working hours. This can avoid gatherings, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The system consists of two parts: a management center (such as a computer or tablet that performs registration operations) and a device equipped with the registration system. The device can be a keyboard connected to the management center or touch screen, an RFID device, or a device running the application. smart phone.

Therefore, the teacher can check the attendance status through the PIN code on the computer management center, or the RFID card or the scanned QR code.

In recent weeks, as many as 150 educational institutions across Andalusia have applied to participate in the trial.
